Gray Thursday Use to Be Happy Thanksgiving Day

I need to get this off my chest...How dare the Retail Industry take over Thanksgiving Day!

It is a clear sign of corporate greed to make employees work on a holiday that is meant for time spent with Family and Friends.  I'm single and most of my family is dead or lives too far way to see, but that doesn't mean that I want to work on Thanksgiving Day!

And as for shopping on that day - REALLY!!!

If shoppers stayed home on Gray Thursday, then the stores would just move the sale items to Black Friday where they have been for years.  There is NOTHING that can't be bought on Friday, Saturday or any other day of the week during the Holiday Season!

For shoppers to be lead like sheep into thinking that they can only get that special deal on gray Thursday is ludicrous.  You are the one controlling the retail stores, not the other way around.  Another holiday that get's lost to the gutless souls of the greedy merchants who can not stop their needless campaign to take your money in some new way.

I feel sad for the shoppers who value possessions over family!

As for the employee's of these stores, you too can control when the stores are open.  Don't Go To WORK!  If all of you said no to Gray Thursday, you would not loose your job, and the stores would not open up.  But fear of loosing your job, and fear of not having enough money to survive on, or to be able to buy the things you feel your family needs for the Holiday, will keep you as a slave to the retail bosses.

To be clear, I work a minimum wage job, and yes, I like shopping for the Holidays, but even a man who spends his Thanksgiving Day alone, has enough heart to not add to the insanity of retail greed on this Holiday!

Midtern Election Lessons

The midterm elections are not over and I am amazed at how 'forgetful' Americans can be.  In less then 6 years, American have chosen to go back in time and elect the very party that has caused the most damage to America in the last 20 years.  REALLY!!!!

What happen to all that apathy that has existed for so long against both party's?  Neither one seems willing to put American's first, they care only for their personal well being then that of our Nation.

One of the reasons given for the Republican take over was that the Nation feels unsafe, and yet, the Republican party is the one that created this condition!  If this election has taught us anything, we are SHEEP!!!

It is more and more clear that all of this corporate money going into campaigns truly makes us stupid in what the reality is.  No one party is the right party, but until American's get off their asses and put a stop to the sale of our public offices, we have no one to blame for this mess except for ourselves. 

The RIGHT person should be elected to office, not the one who can outspend their competition with corporate funds.  My definition of the RIGHT person is simple:  A person who is willing to put the good of the Nation first before their own greed and privileges.  Yes, I know that it is not cheap to be in public office these days, and that's due to always having to find donor money then actually doing their job.  The RIGHT person who give up the money hunt and focus on the job.  The RIGHT person would be willing to forgo their income from the office they are elected to.  The RIGHT person is one who is willing to work with ALL parties, just not their own.  The RIGHT person should be willing to take a stand for what they believe in and not waffle on the issues.

The RIGHT person does not exist these days because the American people don't care!

The next two years will be sad to watch from my point of view.  Things will not be getting any better, and all of the improvements we have had in our economy, as small as they may have been, will not be gone in two years. 

Our elected officials will once again create more fear and continue in their failure to work for the good of our Nation.
